Though ...I have to agree with riddhima on this one. Though Starbucks certainly is a player, and, yes, probably stil the most important player, in the American coffee industry, more and more... America runs on Dunkin. Dunkin Donuts, perhaps the most successful company with no correctly spelled words in its name, has re-created itself in part because of its fantastic add campaign ranging from 'the back of my legs, sticking to the pleather' to 'stay cool when its a billion degrees.' Dunkin' has used catchy slogans, their trademark donuts, and coffee that actually tastes like coffee to invade Starbuck's market. There is now a better and, yes, much much cheaper alternative than Starbuck's fritalian-named coffee.Ruminationshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15933601102754135349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7146031547797573341.post-52986567014502565002006-12-14T14:47:00.000-05:002006-12-14T14:47:00.000-05:00Starbucks has established an identity that appeals...Starbucks has established an identity that appeals to a variety of individuals. In the 90's I was working with a group of young adults with learning disabilities and they decided that adulthood was signified by walking around town with a Starbucks cup of coffee. Interesting that this appeal has reached down to even younger ages. Wish I had invested in Starbucks in the early 90's.<br />Maryellen King, Coordinator, Horticultural Therapy Services, Chicago Botanic GardenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7146031547797573341.post-63913387826208186802006-12-12T21:57:00.000-05:002006-12-12T21:57:00.000-05:00I really don't think Starbucks holds a monopoly on...I really don't think Starbucks holds a monopoly on the coffee industry. I mean if you walk around our school hallways, you'll see people carrying various different coffee cups. I do believe though that it is become "in fashion" and the company is trying to lure younger customers. My brother is 10 years old, and the other day he actually asked my dad whether we could get Starbucks. And after reading the whole Starbucks article, that really stuck me. I mean my brother really doesn't like coffee (he was getting hot chocolate anyways) but going to Starbucks was this big event and all the "cool" kids did it. Anyways...as I said that really struck me.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16798657978161129781noreply@blogger.com
